ECADC in collaboration with the Association of Estonian Art Institutions (KAEL), is organising a new international cultural management forum Shaping Cultural Futures. The forum will take place on November 4–5 at Kai Art Center, featuring two days of keynotes, discussions, conversations and workshops. Designed for professionals working in the arts, culture, and creative policy, the forum will bring together international industry experts, researchers, and institutional leaders. The aim is to explore how contemporary art can contribute to building more sustainable, visible, and forward-looking cultural landscapes.

10:00-12:00 Workshop: Understanding Your Impact / Maria (Maja) Drabczyk, Chair of the Board and Head of Policy and Advocacy at the Centrum Cyfrowe Foundation
How can you design and understand the impact you generate through your actions? How can you analyse a project’s impact and integrate it into an institution’s long-term strategy? How can you identify and understand the challenges and opportunities it presents? How do you define key stakeholders and meet their needs and expectations? This session will provide an introduction to impact assessment with teamwork activities based on case studies from the GLAM (galleries, libraries, archives, and museum) sector.

13:00-14:30 Lecture: Contemporary Revenue Models for Cultural Institutions / Ragnar Siil, Founder and Director of Creativity Lab
How can cultural organisations develop sustainable income streams without compromising their mission? This workshop will explore participatory revenue models, drawing on insights from the EU-funded RECHARGE project which developed Participatory Business Models for the cultural heritage sector. Participants will discover practical tools to co-create value with their communities, diversify income sources, and prototype new funding approaches. Whether you’re looking to reduce reliance on grants or test bold ideas with your audience, this session offers inspiration and real-life examples.

Maarin Ektermann, President of the Estonian Artists’ Association in conversation with Jaan Naaber, Founder of Sviby
This seminar will explore how cultural institutions can use ticketing, data and visitor statistics to gain deeper insights into their audiences. It will focus on what can be measured through ticketing and research, as well as how this information relates to practical experience in the field. Emphasis will be placed on identifying participation patterns and audience behavior in order to inform decision-making and programme planning in cultural institutions.
